Volunteer Corner

Volunteer of the Month

Sian Mole

Sian has been volunteering with us since 2011. She has led several Arts Enrichment / Play & Learn classes in various communities. She is one of a few volunteers qualified to teach a SEEDS class. She is outstanding at presenting information about our services to parents during our outreach events. Sian is currently teaching her last Art Enrichment class with us in Sunnyvale. She's leaving us and we wish her the best of luck with her Psychology degree.

Volunteer Quote of the Month
"Appreciation is a wonderful thing. It makes what is excellent in others belong to us as well." - Voltaire

Volunteer Updates

When great creative minds come together, big ideas happen! We had our first Volunteer Meeting of this new fiscal year on Thursday, July 26 at Mercy Street FRC. We have such a great group of enthusiastic and dedicated volunteers. With all of their talents combined, we are looking forward to many new classes and events within the next coming months.

For those that were not able to come to the meeting, every month we will post the Volunteer Meeting minutes online. All
volunteers in our database will have access to it (please let Nancy know if you are unable to view it).

Volunteer Opportunities

Are You Zumba Teacher Material? Are you a Zumba lover? Do you think you'd make a good Zumba teacher? FIRST 5 LTI is looking for a dedicated volunteer who is interested in being trained to teach Zumba for our families.
Help us spread the word about LTI in the community!
We would like to come and make a presentation at your church, school, or other organizations you are involved in.

VOLUNTEER WITH US!
THE LTI PROGRAM IS LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEERS.  DO YOU HAVE A FEW HOURS TO HELP???
We are looking for volunteers to help spread the word to the community, and people who want to share their talents in the classroom with parents and children. Please be in touch if you might be interested in helping.

CALLING ALL GARDENERS!  The LTI program has two wonderful community gardens in Mountain View (Mercy Street) and Sunnyvale at New World Child Development Center. In addition to planting and tending garden, we are planning a series of educational programs for children about the garden.  The curriculum has been developed, we just need volunteers to lead the programs or help us coordinate special planting parties.
