Cafecito Mother’s Group

Family Day Arts Enrichment

Bilingual Storytime

Notes: This class is first come, first served for the first 15 children/30 people (due to the classroom size, for safety reasons). Plan to arrive at least 15 minutes early (or 30 to secure a spot) – it will most likely fill each week. If you arrive before 10:30am and do not get a spot, you will receive priority entrance for the next week if you arrive before 10:30am the following week. (Limit 5 for priority entrance).English with Japanese available.

New Home for Sunnyvale Based Family Resource Center: The CHAC and FIRST 5 collaborative, in partnership with the Sunnyvale School District, is proud to announce we will be opening a NEW satellite Family Resource Center at Vargas Elementary. The full size classroom will provide an opportunity to have play and learn classes, parent meetings with childcare, and more. We expect to open in mid-August.

A warm THANK YOU to our hosts of the last three years, Caring Hearts CDC. They have been a generous and welcoming partner, and we appreciate their support as we grow into a larger space.

Fun in the Sun – 

Date: Fridays, May 17 – June 28 

Time: 10:00-11:30 

Address: Wilson Park, 10298 N. Portal Ave. 

Notes: Cost is $1 per class or purchase a $5 fun pass for all seven sessions. This class is designed to encourage healthy living habits and movement for families, and will include special physical activities to develop children’s gross motor skills.  Families will also have access to the park playground, will participate in circle time (reading & music), and will be able to create a fun art project to take home. Mandarin Fun in the Sun

Date: Thursdays, June 6 – August 8 (8 weeks)

Time: 10:00-11:30 

Address: Jollyman Park, 1000 S. Stelling Rd, near McClellan Rd

Notes: Cost is $1 per class or purchase a $5 fun pass for all eight sessions. This class is designed to encourage healthy living habits and movement for families, and will include special physical activities to develop children’s gross motor skills. Families will also have access to the park playground. Remember sun protection and outdoor appropriate shoes. Registration is not required. Everyone is welcome, but class will be conducted in Mandarin Chinese.  Volunteer Update

Hadas Keppel, presented on the topic of "Managing Tantrums" during our May Volunteer Meeting. It was a very informative presentation and the moms in the group were able to share their experiences.

Volunteers Needed! Several of our wonderful volunteers are taking trips during the summer and will not be available to lead our classes. If we do not have volunteer teachers, we cannot hold classes! 

We are looking for committed teachers for:

• starting in the FALL for our Monday afternoon class at Escuela (3:45 - 5:15 PM)
• and teachers to help in Sunnyvale (Spanish and English speakers).
